Back from the beach...

We are back from our summer beach vacation to the Outer Banks - Corolla, NC.  We had a nice trip but it was bittersweet to come home.  We usually head straight to my Dad's house (her only sitter) to pick up The Bud.  This trip - we went straight home.

The gazebo in the background of the first picture is the one she's standing by in my FAVORITE photo of The Bud.  Perfect curly tail, perfect "smile" and perfect "hurry up and let's go play" look...  Click on photo for a larger view.

Some background on the plastic dog...  When we first brought RoseBud home we had her for ten days and then we went to Disney World for ten days with my inlaws.  The Bud stayed with my Dad.  We brought along the plastic dog and have since brought it with us EVERY trip we have gone on without her.  RoseBud has done her share of traveling but this "dog" has been all over - near and far, toured around the world in Epcot (and photographed in each country) and here's a picture having dinner outside of The Nook - Charlottesville, VA.

 

She had one heck of a wardrobe.

RoseBud was a bit of a fashionista.  She had a large selection of collars (mostly Italian leather), an array of costumes and some rockin clothes.  I won't even get into the size of her jewelry box right now!

I guess it all started long ago.  She came home from Sandy's (the breeder) in a cut up tube sock.  You'd pay a lot of money for deconstructed clothes like that today.  Even when she was a little pup she was so fashion forward!

She soon outgrew it and we put it on a pug beanie baby.

Here is the last outfit she was photographed in.  We found this little dog polo and pants at Target.

Yes, for those of you that don't know, they make PANTS for DOGS - tail hole and all!!!

In honor of the new SATC movie out today I dug up a picture from a few years ago - February 2004 - the last episode.

We had a little "final show" treat - smoothies for us and a rawhide ring for The Bud - in martini glasses, of course!!!

Our beloved RoseBud

It is with great sadness that we bring you the news that our beloved RoseBud passed away April 16th, 2008.  She peacefully took her last breath in my arms that afternoon.  We were both by her side.  She was 8 years and 4 months old.

RoseBud led a wonderful life full of family and friends and lots of excitement. She was the CEO (Canine Executive Officer) of our company Puppy Dog Productions and loved to travel and explore and meet new people.

She had her own way of talking (okay, barking) that was fully understandable to those well trained in her verse.

RoseBud loved to sleep, eat and play (usually in that order) and was the best companion anyone could ever ask for.

This is for RoseBud - to remember her and to be remembered...

Rest in Peace, Puppy Dog.

We will miss you and love you forever!
